MSSM

I'm gonna talk about my MSSM experience. Some of you might have heard about it in the assembly about students from BB who went for MSSM for rugby, chess and squash. It is in my experience that most do not know what MSSM , MSSS or MSSD is, or at least i think so. They only have a rough idea of what it is, not realising how big the event is.

MSS refers in BM to Majlis Sukan Sekolah, the end of the "MSS" shows the level of the tournament. Many students have went to MSSD, which refers to Majlis Sukan Sekolah Daerah. MSSD is for any sport whether for badminton, football or whatever. And if you are among the best in your district you'll be chosen for the next one - MSSS. The S refers to selangor, so for other states they use their respective state's name (eg. Kedah is MSSK i think). It continues, if you are among the best in your state you will go to the next one which is MSSM - a prestigious tourmament for youths in malaysia. For some sports, after MSSM is a more prestigious one, which is representing your country for tournaments like ASEAN, ASIAN and World tournaments. This is the main goal of many youths who are active in sports, if they think they can make it that is...

MSSD, MSSS and MSSM have three groups( Under-12, Under-15 , Under-18 age) and are separated to boys and girls. But it depends on the sport, i doubt MSSM for rugby has a girls section.

Anyway, my explanation is done. My experience now. MSSM for chess this year was in Selangor. Yeah, we were the host state. For those going for MSSM, the last thing they ever want is the tournament being held in their own ground. Imagine going for the olympics, and it was held in your country! That would be boring, people like to travel to other countries.

Moreover i have the luck of going for MSSM for 4 years. My first one, my most memorable one, was held in Terengganu when i was form 2. One thing about MSSM is that it is very very fun. For MSSM catur, you get to stay in a hotel, around 7 days with your friends(imgaine that). The experience is very memorable and i wished i could go another time but my school days are over since i'm gonna go college next year. In Terengganu, we got to play beach football, eat their signature fish dishes, rest beside the beach etc. Not only that, Selangor in chess is among the best in the country. So we are respected and revered by other states (which is nice xD).
