Coming back from Vietnam

When the Malaysian Team came back to Malaysia from Vietnam after the ASEAN age group chess tournnament, reporters were at the airport to interview the malaysian gold medallists. We were able to grab 3 gold medals which all came from the Malaysian girls.

I did not win and actually did very badly for your information :(. Anyway i found this video which was from TV 3, reporting on Malaysia's chess performance. The complete malaysian team is shown when we shouted "Malaysia Boleh!". If you look closely you can actually see me :D. Other than the Gold medallists, my other teammates and myself was not interviewed because we did not win anything :( . It was pretty disappointing for some of them who almost obtain medals only to come back empty handed. I was not really disappointed because honestly... I never stood a chance but the others were pretty close.

Going to Vietnam

Hello,

I'm going to Vietnam on Saturday (June 6) and coming back on June 16. The purpose of my visit is to play chess in the 10th ASEAN+ AGE-GROUP CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS where I will be representing Malaysia in the Under-20 age group. First time I have ever played chess in a competition outside of Malaysia, so this will be a nice experience for me.

The winner will be given the FIDE Master title, other than the glory and bragging rights that come with winning :D. I do not expect to win at all though, but maybe... i have a one in a million chance to win ;). I am seeded 16 that means theoritically I am weaker than the 15 players ahead of me so logically my chances to win are slim. Nevertheless, my aim is do better than my seeding which is in itself not easy to do.

One problem I am facing is that i have to finish my additional mathematics project in one day (Today!). Don't think I'm gonna finish, just hope teacher will spare me and not minus marks or something. Well, I gotta start packing and try to finish my project... bye
